Graduate Students Present at AAR Annual Meeting

Michael Kinsella, Philip Deslippe, and John Thibdeau presented papers as part of a workshop hosted by the SORAAD Group on the incorporation of innovative and interdisciplinary methodologies in the study of religions.  Kinsella's paper discusses the combination of ethnographic and quasi-experimental methods in his research on near-death experience, Deslippe's the use of geographical analyses in his research on early twentieth century yogic networks, and Thibdeau's the potential contribution of video and gestural analyses to studies of religious practice in the context of Sufi dhikr.
