Application & Admission Information PLEASE NOTE: Our application deadline has been changed to December 1, 2007. Admissions Information Applicants are admitted on a competitive basis; our admission policy is based on intellectual potential and promise, academic records, and programmatic fit. Undergraduate GPA counts heavily and must be a minimum of 3.0, and current scores from the general test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are required. A writing sample is strongly recommended. Applications for the M.A./Ph.D. and Ph.D. programs are accepted for fall quarter only; the deadline is December 1. The same schedule is normally required for M.A. Plan II applicants. The UCSB institution code for the GRE test is 4835. If a departmental code is requested, it is 2904 for Religious Studies.
