Professor Winnifred Fallers Sullivan, Chair of Religious Studies Department and Affiliate Professor of the Maurer College of Law, Indiana University, will deliver the keynote address for a conference devoted to “Freedom of (and from) Religion: Debates Over the Accommodation of Religion in the Public Sphere,” being held May 1-2, in Flying A Room, University Center, UC Santa Barbara. She is the author of Paying the Words Extra: Religious Discourse in the Supreme Court of the United States, The Impossibility of Religious Freedom, Prison Religion: Faith-based Reform and the Constitution, and A Ministry of Presence: Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care, and the Law. She is the co-editor of After Secular Law, Varieties of Religious Establishment and, most recently, Politics of Religious Freedom.
